Ghinwa Baradhi

Chief Information Officer for Middle East North Africa & Turkey (MENAT), HSBC

Ghinwa Baradhi is the Regional Chief Information Officer for HSBC in Middle East, North Africa (MENA) and Turkey. She is responsible for the Bank’s technology function across the region.

In this capacity, Ghinwa focuses on creating better Customer Experience and Business Value through technology and innovation bridging IT strategies with business simplification and efficiency. In recognition of this work Ghinwa received the International Data Corporation (IDC) CIO Excellence Awards 2019 across MENA.

Ghinwa has been with HSBC for 13 years, having joined the bank in 2006 as Head of IT Operations and Quality for MENA. During her tenure, she has undertaken multiple roles within the organisation leading Software Delivery and IT Operations and heading Global Banking and Markets Operational Effectiveness.

Ghinwa is an accomplished senior executive with 25 years of experience in Banking Technology and Operations. Prior to HSBC, Ghinwa has held senior roles, globally and regionally, with Emirates NBD bank, in areas of Business Intelligence, CRM, Data Warehouse and Wholesale Trade.

Ghinwa has been appointed as HSBC’s nominated member to the UAE Banks Federation (UBF) IT Committee. She is also HSBC’s nominated Sponsor for Diversity & Inclusion for Technology globally and for the DIFC FINTECH Hive in Dubai.

Ghinwa is a member of the CIO Majlis Forum sponsored by SmartWorld Dubai which drives UAE Innovation Strategy. She is on the Technical Advisory Board of Nodes Agency, a leading digital product development enterprise and also an Advisory Board Member for the Money 20/20 Asia RiseUp Program, a global accelerator program focusing on gender diversity and supporting Women across Financial Services.

Ghinwa holds an MBA from Bradford University and an MSC in Computer Science from Lebanese American University.
