Maria Florencia Chango

Maria Florencia “Popi” Chango is a senior leader within the Finance department of Xapo, one of the largest Bitcoin companies in the world. As the Head of Finance, she was instrumental in designing and implementing all of the trade capture, product accounting and GL interfaces from scratch for what is a fast moving and innovative industry. 

Now as the Head of Product Control, Popi is involved with rolling out a highly complex multi-currency exposure monitoring and accounting posting engine in a highly dynamic environment. The company has grown from a small startup to a highly profitable FinTech company regulated in Europe in both decentralised ledger technology and traditional banking services, where she is leading the way in helping build the bank of the future, with Blockchain at its core, highly modular and dynamic infrastructure. She has been working professionally in financial services with a focus on the cryptocurrency and payments industry since early 2015. 

Born and raised in Argentina, Popi knows how hard it can be for a woman to have a voice in a male dominated industry within a male dominant world. She is driven by and has a strong belief in inclusion, gender equality and social justice. In her spare time Popi loves reading, listening to music and spending time with her dog, Chewbacca.
